ETHF Open Sabre 6/1/24

Our in-house, Open division sabre tourney. Open events are open to everyone from the most advanced to those new to the weapon.

Unlike Div 1 events; which self select advanced fencers only, open events encourage a mix of everyone. It allows advanced fencers opportunities to compete against beginners - as one has to strategize fencing a beginner in a tourney very differently than an advanced peer. It also gives beginners and intermediate fencers a taste of advanced level competition. Where Div 1 events tend to be very serious, Open events are still in the "fun" category, so don't be discouraged if you're new to things.

NOTE: With the weapon being sabre and sabre being what it is: timing for doubles will be a bit shorter than with longsword or rapier. If your double doesn't land at almost exactly the same time, it will be an afterblow instead. Priority double rules are still in play.
