At East Texas Historical Fencing, our youth fencing program combines elements of both Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) and modern Olympic fencing to create a fast-paced, engaging, and well-rounded training experience for kids. Students learn the fundamentals of footwork, coordination, timing, distance management, and blade control while developing confidence, discipline, and problem-solving skills in a supportive team environment.
By blending historical techniques with the structure and athletic movement of modern fencing, classes keep students active, challenged, and excited to learn. Training includes drills, games, controlled sparring, and partner exercises designed to build focus, fitness, sportsmanship, and quick decision-making skills.
Whether a student is looking for a unique sport, a confidence boost, or simply a fun way to stay active, fencing offers an experience that is equal parts athletic, strategic, and rewarding. No prior experience or athletic background is required, just a willingness to learn and have fun.
